It only took a couple of hours to turn the Ron Kolbus Lakeside center
into a jolly, festive room buzzing with chatter and activity! It was
great to see so many familiar faces - friends and family that stand
behind us - patrons of the arts!! Many former members still come out to
this fun afternoon. Many are counting the days to when their lives will
allow them to come back to our risers! And that's a good thing! At least
10 of our new members performed with us today and most of those who
didn't were in the audience! Oh yay - that's right - they are hooked!!
Was
struck by the old saying - what a small world today! As I was chatting
with a colleague from work she said - OMG - I know so and so - I live
next door to that lady over there - I had no idea my neighbour sang with
Canadian Showtime. And then the funniest of all, Chris and Nancy, NAV
CANADA colleagues asked if I could point Nancy - our PR Guru - out to
them as ... get this ..... they play Cityville on Facebook but had never
met!! Isn't that the greatest!! What a small world!!
Thank
you to all of our supporters for coming out today and thanks to the
many many hands that helped put this event together! I would be nowhere
without you!
And on we go - couple of days of coaching ahead! We are in such a good musical place! Fills my soul!
Have I mentioned lately how much I LOVE my hobby!! Well I do!!

SAI Houston - Sweet Adelines have left the city!!
What a wonderful week of song, friendship, laughter and harmony!! Some
will be going home on a high as they will have realized their dreams!
Others will leave just a little bit disappointed with their results but
they should rest assured that this Sweet Adeline at least is proud of
their accomplishments and lived vicariously through each of them! Very
proud of our sisters in harmony, the Greater Kingston Chorus of Region
16 who caught the local news's eye - the screen was awash in a sea of
pink as snippets of their live performance in the semis was featured on
the news! Lions Gate was featured as well with an interview with their
enthusiastic director Sandie Maron! Very proud of my fellow Canadians!
It was an early morning for some in room 1610 this morning. Nicky
was singing in the shower by 5 and was out the door by 5:30. I was out
the door an hour later and now sit at the gate in Houston waiting for my
flight out. Liz and Nancy got a bit of a reprieve!! I am here WAY too
early as I was shifted from a 10 am to 11 am departure time but I am
okay with that - no running in heels for this chicky today!!!!
And here ends the journey - for this time! My roomies and I are
already talking Denver! I highly encourage all of you to consider going!
The education value is worth gold (if you get my drift)! Come play,
sing and share in the joy (I stole that from Scottsdale!!!) You won't
regret it!
Thanks for following our escapades this week! It almost felt like you were here!
I'm sufonsefied (great word but how the heck is it spelled? Mountain
Jubilee could help!!) - loved every minute of the week - but am ready
to go home!
Roving reporter Crowe signing off until the next event!!!!
Hugs xo

SAI Houston - The Big Big Show!!
Canadian Showtime Chorus has been fortunate enough to make it to the
International stage 4 times and the excitement of it all was outstanding
each and every time! I am very anxious for the day our name gets called
on semi-final Thursday! It's gonna happen folks! I can feel it!!
Today is a large day for the top ten chorus finalists as by 10:30 pm
tonight they will proudly walk off stage wearing their international
champ medals!! I wonder what their morning routine encompassed today!
Did they sleep last night???? Will they sleep tonight! Congratulations
and a special good luck shout out to fellow Canadians Lion's Gate and to
our sister's from a different director Melodeers and Pride of Kentucky -
trying to recreate that expression brada from a different mada!! -
directors to them - coaches to us!!!!
Snuck in some mall shopping with the roomies this morning while our
director bought out Harmony Bazaar! Our other CSC sisters that stayed
with Sandra Dillon - a former CSC gal now with Houston Horizon - are
likely lounging by the pool!
It's a beautiful day in Houston and we are ready for the finals! Catch this amazing show on webcast if you can!
One more sleep and we go home - can't wait to share all we learned with our sisters at home!
Did I mention how much I love this hobby - this organization - this
music - my worldly friends??? It's more than a hobby - it's a passion!!

SAI Houston - Top 10 Chorus Reveal - soon!!!!!
I don't even for a minute pretend to know what the judges look and
listen to but I am 100% sure they have a tough decision to make today!
What terrific talent! If you aren't a Sweet Adeline yet, I encourage you
to find a chapter in your home town or city! Nothing feeds the soul
like the barbershop style!!

Grove! This Canadian Showtime Chorus gal is hankering for a steak!!
Back to my seat for the last 3 competitors. Congratulations to all - and the finalists are .......
